Als The Game die Feature-Gäste seines kommenden Albums The Documentary 2 bekannt gab, fiel dem ein oder anderen die Kinnlade runter. Der Gute hat die halbe US-Rap-Szene auf dem Release versammelt: Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Diddy, Snoop, Nas, Lil Wayne und Kendrick Lamar, um nur mal ein paar Namen zu nennen. In einem Interview äußerte er sich nun zu den Features.
The Game erklärte, er sei der Einzige im Rap-Geschäft, der eine solche Bandbreite von Feature-Gästen auf einem Album unterbekomme: "I think that I’m the only Hiphop artist that can put out a really good body of work and call it an album and have features like Q-Tip and Nas on the same album as Kendrick and YG."
Da es sich bei The Documentary 2 um ein Doppelalbum handelt, hat The Game sich offenbar ganz genau überlegt, wer auf welcher CD erscheint.
Seine Idee war es, die Platte wie einen Film zu gestalten: "It’s just like one long ride through L.A. You got Sway doing a skit. Me and Sway drove through L.A. and got sweated in real life by some Crips. [...] We talk about how the whole shooting with me a G-Unit went down ten years ago."
Im Verlaufe des Interviews äußert sich The Game auch zum Streit mit 50 Cent. In seinen Augen sei es unwahrscheinlich, dass sie die Streiterein irgendwann beilegen würden. Anschließend vergleicht er sich und Fifty mit den Beatles: "I guess it’s like The Beatles beef. Sometimes you get two people and they just won’t reconcile."
Mit den anderen G-Unit-Mitgliedern habe The Game jedoch kein Problem: "These days I don’t harbor any hate for anybody in G-Unit. I’m kind of just doing my thing."
